Dr. Clayhold injects this or applies it topically to numb a specific area of your mouth. Local anesthetic doesn’t affect your consciousness.
Dr. Clayhold uses oral sedation to put you in a sleep-like condition that leaves you with no memory of your procedure, similar to IV sedation. You’ll take pills by mouth prior to your arrival at our office.
Dr. Clayhold administers nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, through a mask. You’ll stay alert but calm throughout treatment. The effects of nitrous oxide wear off quickly once the mask is removed.
Dr. Clayhold administers this form of sedation intravenously, to put you in a sleep-like state, though you’re technically still conscious. You won’t feel anything during your procedure or remember anything about it afterward.
Used for the most complex dental and medical procedures, general anesthesia is a combination of medications that renders you completely unconscious. Only specially trained practitioners such as Dr. Clayhold can provide this level of anesthesia.
